There is a great deal written about the ‘End Time’ [in the Bible], and who… other than someone who knows precisely what the Bible is talking about… can tell us what the Bible means? I mean specifically, and in total, not just the aspects that may or may not take place in physical terms alone?
I ask this because it seems quite apparent to me that there are two dimensions being addressed in Revelation; one is this physical dimension, and the second is another dimension that is simply spoken of as “a new heaven and a new earth“. For there to be a new heaven and a new earth, the old heaven and earth must be replaced.
For example, what does this verse mean: Revelation 21:1 “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”? At least two questions occur to me? 1. Can an earth pass away and the people who inhabited the earth remain? 2. Verse 20:4…I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Then we have Verse 20:5…But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
It seems to me this verse, speaking of “the rest of the dead” is not addressed in the speculation of many authors. There is also the question of the “first resurrection” and the “second death,” and the thousand years that separate the “first resurrection” and the “second death”. A “second death”? What does this mean, and to whom does the “second death” apply? Does this mean the dead are to die again, or does this mean there were people who did not die at the time of the first resurrection?
Because in Chapter 20, verse 8, it states that Satan, upon release after a thousand years, in verse 7 …”shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.”
20:9 “...and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.”
20:10 “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire” where the beast [Antichrist] and the false prophet are, and that all are …”tormented day and night for ever and ever.”
20:11 Merely states that the “earth and heaven had fled away; and there was found no place for them.” This suggests to me the absence of the physical plane of existence, and that what is taking place is occurring in the Astral region of Creation, and not on Earth at all… since both earth and heaven “had fled away“.*
*In Eastern mysticism, this would be explained as what is called a “mini Dissolution,” or the dissolving of the physical universe for a period of time equal to the time it had existed, since its last dissolution?
20:12 And again, there is another “final” judgement, and “they were judged every man according to their works.” 20:13 Ditto. 20:14 “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”
In the Eastern scriptures, there is history of life existing long before Christianity, and life existing [on a continuing basis] long after the dissolution of the Earth. So, the small point I am making is that the story of the Bible, is true… but it is also merely part of a much larger Reality that is also TRUE.
In my humble opinion, what Revelation is referring to by way of the “end time,” is a mini-dissolution, in which the entire physical universe is dissolved for a period of time equal to the time it was in existence. And the Souls [that are not cast into the lake of fire], are pulled up to the Astral region until the physical universe begins again. At which time Souls will once again begin to incarnate into the physical universe to explore and experience it… in whatever forms “fit” their needs as determined by where, on the Ladder of Life, their Souls happen to reside? And all of this is under the Law of Karma, Created by God expressly for this purpose.
